Ingredients:
1 lb ground pork (or chicken)
1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 package dumpling wrappers (available at Asian markets or grocery stores)
For the Sauce:
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
1/2 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon chili crunch (optional)
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Filling:
In a large bowl, mix the ground pork with chicken or vegetable broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, green onions, rice vinegar, and sugar until well combined.
Assemble the Dumplings:
Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper.
Carefully fold the wrapper around the filling, pleating and pinching the edges to seal the dumpling. Ensure the dumpling is well sealed to avoid leaks.
Cook the Dumplings:
Steam: Arrange the dumplings in a single layer on a steaming rack lined with parchment paper. Steam over boiling water for about 10-12 minutes, or until cooked through.
Microwave: Place the dumplings on a microwave-safe plate, cover with a microwave-safe lid or plastic wrap, and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Let them sit for 1 minute before serving.
Prepare the Sauce:
In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, chili powder, chili crunch (if using), garlic salt, sesame oil, vinegar, and chopped parsley.
Serve:
Serve the hot dumplings with the dipping sauce on the side.
