Pepper Steak Stir Fry

This pepper steak stir fry is thinly sliced flank steak cooked with red and green bell peppers in a savory sauce. A quick and easy meal that tastes even better than takeout !

Ingredients:
– 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
– 1 red bell pepper, sliced
– 1 green bell pepper, sliced
– 1 small onion, sliced
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/4 cup soy sauce
– 1 tbsp cornstarch
– 2 tbsp brown sugar
– 1/2 cup beef broth
– 2 tbsp vegetable oil
– 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
– Optional: 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Directions:

1. Prepare the Sauce:
– In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.

2. Cook the Steak:
– Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
– Add the flank steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

3. Sauté the Vegetables:
– Add the remaining 1 tbsp of oil to the skillet.

– Add the bell peppers and onion, cooking until tender, about 4-5 minutes.

4. Combine and Simmer:
– Return the steak to the skillet.
– Pour the sauce over the steak and vegetables, stirring to coat.
– Optional: Add red pepper flakes for extra heat.
– Let simmer until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.

5. Serve:
– Serve immediately over rice or noodles. Enjoy your meal!
