🥯 Classic Cinnamon Rolls (Full Recipe)
🧾 Ingredients
Dough:
1 cup (240 ml) warm milk (about 110°F / 43°C)
2¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
⅓ cup (75 g) melted butter
4 to 4½ cups (500–560 g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
Cinnamon Filling:
½ cup (115 g) softened butter
¾ cup (150 g) brown sugar
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
Cream Cheese Icing:
4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
¼ cup (60 g) butter, softened
1–1½ cups (120–180 g) powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1–2 tbsp milk (as needed)
👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Activate yeast
    Warm milk (not hot).
    Mix with yeast + 1 tbsp sugar.
    Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make dough
    Add remaining sugar, eggs, melted butter, salt.
    Gradually add flour.
    Knead 8–10 minutes until soft and elastic.
    👉 Dough should be slightly tacky but not sticky.
  3. First rise
    Place dough in a greased bowl.
    Cover and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
  4. Roll & fill
    Roll dough into a large rectangle.
    Spread softened butter.
    Mix brown sugar + cinnamon, sprinkle evenly.
  5. Shape rolls
    Roll tightly into a log.
    Cut into 9–12 equal pieces.
  6. Second rise
    Place in greased baking dish.
    Cover and let rise 30–45 minutes.
  7. Bake
    Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes
    until golden and fluffy.
  8. Make icing
    Beat cream cheese + butter.
    Add powdered sugar + vanilla.
    Add milk until smooth and spreadable.
  9. Finish
    Spread icing over warm rolls.
    Let it melt slightly into the swirls.
