Sweetened Condensed Milk Snowball Cookies
⭐ Ingredients
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup (100 g) finely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional but classic)
- Powdered sugar, for rolling
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Make the dough
- Beat butter until light and creamy.
- Add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour + salt.
- Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in chopped nuts (optional).
Dough will be soft—this is normal.
2. Chill
Refrigerate the dough for 30–45 minutes so it’s easier to roll.
3. Shape & Bake
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake 12–14 minutes, until bottoms are lightly golden (tops should stay pale).
4. Roll in powdered sugar
- Let cookies cool for 5 minutes.
- Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar.
- Once fully cooled, roll again for a thick “snowy” coating. ❄️
💡 Tips
- Chill longer if dough feels sticky.
- Nuts are optional, but they give classic snowball flavor.
- Add ½ tsp almond extract for a holiday twist.
- These freeze beautifully for up to 2 months.
