Sweetened Condensed Milk Snowball Cookies

Sweetened Condensed Milk Snowball Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (100 g) finely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional but classic)
  • Powdered sugar, for rolling

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the dough

  1. Beat butter until light and creamy.
  2. Add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour + salt.
  4. Add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Fold in chopped nuts (optional).

Dough will be soft—this is normal.

2. Chill

Refrigerate the dough for 30–45 minutes so it’s easier to roll.

3. Shape & Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
  3. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake 12–14 minutes, until bottoms are lightly golden (tops should stay pale).

4. Roll in powdered sugar

  1. Let cookies cool for 5 minutes.
  2. Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar.
  3. Once fully cooled, roll again for a thick “snowy” coating. ❄️

💡 Tips

  • Chill longer if dough feels sticky.
  • Nuts are optional, but they give classic snowball flavor.
  • Add ½ tsp almond extract for a holiday twist.
  • These freeze beautifully for up to 2 months.
