Crispy Fries

Golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside — these fries stay crispy thanks to one simple trick: cornstarch + double frying.

📝 Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Oil, for deep frying

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Peel potatoes and cut into even-sized fries. Rinse under cold water until the water runs clear.
2️⃣ Soak fries in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat completely dry.
3️⃣ Toss fries with cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika until well coated.
4️⃣ Heat oil to 170°C (340°F). Fry fries for 4–5 minutes (they should be pale). Remove and rest for 5 minutes.
5️⃣ Increase oil temperature to 190°C (375°F) and fry again until golden brown and crispy.
6️⃣ Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
