CHICKEN POT PIE (INDIVIDUAL SERVING)

🧾 INGREDIENTS

🔸 PIE CRUST (TOP & BOTTOM)

(pwede homemade or store-bought)

Homemade crust:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup cold butter or margarine (cubed)
  • 6–8 tbsp ice-cold water

🔸 CHICKEN FILLING

  • 500g chicken breast or thigh (small cubes)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup carrots (diced)
  • 1 cup potatoes (small cubes)
  • ½ cup green peas
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup all-purpose cream or evap milk
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp thyme or Italian seasoning

🔸 EGG WASH

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk or water

🥣 DETAILED PROCEDURE


🥧 STEP 1: PIE CRUST

  1. Sa malaking bowl, paghaluin ang flour, salt, sugar.
  2. Idagdag ang cold butter, i-rub gamit daliri hanggang maging crumbly.
  3. Unti-unting idagdag ang ice water hanggang mag-form ng dough.
  4. Hatiin sa 2 (pang-top at bottom).
  5. Balutin at i-ref ng 30 minutes.

🍗 STEP 2: CHICKEN FILLING

  1. Sa kawali, tunawin ang butter.
  2. Igisa ang sibuyas at bawang hanggang mabango.
  3. Idagdag ang chicken, lutuin hanggang magkulay puti.
  4. Ilagay ang carrots at potatoes, igisa 2–3 minutes.
  5. Budburan ng flour, haluin mabuti.
  6. Ibuhos ang chicken broth, haluin hanggang lumapot.
  7. Idagdag ang cream, peas, seasoning, asin at paminta.
  8. Lutuin hanggang thick at creamy.
  9. Palamigin ng bahagya bago i-assemble.

🥧 STEP 3: ASSEMBLY

  1. I-roll ang dough at ilagay sa ramekins / foil cups.
  2. Lagyan ng chicken filling (huwag sosobra).
  3. Takpan ng crust, i-seal ang edges.
  4. Gumawa ng small slit sa ibabaw para sa steam.
  5. Brush ng egg wash.

🔥 STEP 4: BAKING

  • Bake sa 180°C (350°F) for 30–35 minutes
  • Hanggang golden brown ang ibabaw

  • Palamigin ng 10–15 minutes bago ihain o i-pack
