No-Knead Bread (4 Ingredients)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp instant or active dry yeast
  • 1½ cups (360 ml) warm water

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
  2. Add water and stir until a shaggy, sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover loosely and let rest 12–18 hours at room temperature (65–75°F / 18–24°C).
    → Dough should double and be bubbly.
  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface. Fold edges over itself 2–3 times.
  5. Shape into a rough ball. Cover and rest 30–45 minutes.
  6. While resting, heat oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside for 30 minutes.
  7. Carefully place dough into hot Dutch oven (use parchment if desired).
  8. Cover and bake 30 minutes.
  9. Remove lid and bake 10–15 minutes more until deep golden brown.
  10. Cool at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Texture

  • Crust: crisp & crackly
  • Inside: airy with large holes

Easy Variations

  • Olive & Rosemary: add ¼ cup chopped olives + 1 tbsp rosemary
  • Garlic Herb: add 1 tsp garlic powder + dried herbs
  • Whole Wheat: replace 1 cup flour with whole wheat flour
  • Seeded Top: sprinkle sesame or flax before baking

No Dutch Oven?

Bake on a sheet pan with a small oven-safe dish of water on the bottom rack for steam.
