Christmas M&M Cookie Bars

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup Christmas M&Ms (red + green minis or regular)
  • ¾ cup chocolate chunks or chocolate chips

🥣 Instructions

1. Prep

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking pan (9×13 or 9×9 for thicker bars) with foil or parchment and spray lightly.

2. Make the Dough

  1. Mix melted butter + brown sugar + white sugar until smooth.
  2. Add egg + vanilla and combine.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour + baking soda + salt.
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Fold in half of the M&Ms and half of the chocolate chunks.

3. Spread in Pan

  • Press cookie dough evenly into the baking pan.
  • Sprinkle the remaining M&Ms and chocolate chunks on top (this gives the look in the photo).

4. Bake

  • Bake 20–25 minutes, depending on your pan size.
  • Edges should be golden but the center slightly soft — it will set as it cools.

5. Cool & Slice

  • Let cool fully for clean cuts.
  • Slice into squares or bars.
