Sausage and Cheese Crescent Ring

 Ingredients:
2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
450 g ground sausage (beef, chicken, or turkey)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella/Monterey Jack)
¼ cup cream cheese (softened)
1 small onion (finely chopped) (optional)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 egg (for egg wash)

 Instructions:
Preheat oven:
Set to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cook the sausage:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage (and onion if using) until browned.
Drain excess grease and let cool slightly.
Make the filling:
Mix cooked sausage with cream cheese, shredded cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Arrange the dough:
Open crescent dough and separate into triangles.
Arrange them in a circle on the baking sheet, wide ends overlapping in the center and points facing outward (like a sun shape).
Fill the ring:
Spoon the sausage mixture evenly around the center of the dough ring.
Fold & seal:
Fold the pointed ends over the filling toward the center and tuck under to form a ring.
Egg wash:
Beat the egg and brush over the dough for a golden finish.
Bake:
Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve:
Let cool slightly, then slice and serve.

 Tips:
Serve with dipping sauces like marinara or ranch

Add diced bell peppers or jalapeños for extra flavor

Sprinkle sesame seeds or Parmesan on top before baking
