Creamy Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Introduction

Ingredients
2 cups Macaroni (elbow pasta)
2 tablespoons Butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose Flour
2 cups Milk
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
½ cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
½ teaspoon Garlic powder
½ teaspoon Paprika
Salt and Black pepper to taste
½ cup Breadcrumbs (optional topping)
Optional Additions
½ cup cooked Bacon pieces
½ teaspoon mustard powder
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor
Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside. - Make the Cheese Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux. - Add Milk
Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until the sauce thickens, about 3–4 minutes. - Add Cheese and Seasoning
Stir in cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy. - Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix until well coated. - Prepare for Baking
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Transfer the macaroni mixture to a greased baking dish. - Add Topping
Sprinkle breadcrumbs and extra cheese on top if desired. - Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes until the top is golden and the cheese is bubbly. - Serve
Let cool slightly before serving.
Tips for Best Results
Use freshly shredded cheese for the creamiest sauce.
Do not overcook the pasta before baking.
Add a splash of pasta water if the sauce becomes too thick.
