Christmas M&M Cookie Bars Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar
  • ½ cup (100 g) white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups (315 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup red & green M&Ms
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips

1. Prepare the pan

  • Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Lightly grease the edges if you want extra easy removal.

2. Mix wet ingredients

In a large bowl:

  • Whisk melted butter and both sugars until smooth.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until creamy.

3. Add dry ingredients

  • Add flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Mix just until combined (don’t overmix).

4. Add the goodies

Fold in:

  • Half of the M&Ms
  • Half of the chocolate chips
  • Half of the white chocolate chips

(Reserve the rest for topping.)

5. Spread and top

  • Spread dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Sprinkle remaining M&Ms, chocolate chips, and white chocolate chips on top.

6. Bake

  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes.
  • Edges should be golden, center slightly soft (it will firm up as it cools).

7. Cool and slice

Let cool completely, then slice into bars.
