Caramel Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Ingredients

Cake Batter:

  • 1 ½ cups (340g) butter, softened
  • 1 package (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt

Caramel Sauce (optional but delicious):

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

1. Prepare the pan

Grease and flour a bundt pan (or loaf pan).
Preheat oven to 160°C / 325°F.


2. Make the batter

Cream butter & cream cheese:

Beat softened butter and cream cheese together until smooth.

Add sugar:

Add the sugar and beat for 4–5 minutes until fluffy.

Add eggs:

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.

Add dry ingredients:

Add flour and salt gradually.
Stir in vanilla.

The batter will be thick — this is normal for pound cake.


3. Bake

Pour batter into pan.
Bake 1 hour 20 minutes – 1 hour 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely.


4. Make the Caramel Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat:

  1. Add brown sugar + butter → melt together.
  2. Add cream and stir until smooth.
  3. Let it simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thick.
  4. Add vanilla.

Pour warm caramel over the cooled cake.
