White Chocolate Velvet Cake – Full Recipe
⭐ Ingredients
For the Cake
- 170g white chocolate, finely chopped
- 150ml hot milk
- 200g unsalted butter, softened
- 200g sugar
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 300g cake flour (or all-purpose flour sifted 2×)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 120ml buttermilk (or 120ml milk + 1 tsp vinegar)
For the White Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting
- 200g white chocolate, melted and cooled
- 250g cream cheese, cold
- 150g butter, softened
- 350g powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tsp vanilla
🥣 Instructions
1. Prepare White Chocolate Mixture
- Pour hot milk over the chopped white chocolate.
- Let sit 1 minute, then stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Set aside to cool slightly.
2. Make the Cake Batter
- Beat butter + sugar for 3–4 minutes until pale and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- Add vanilla.
- In another bowl: whisk flour + baking powder + salt.
- Add the dry ingredients in 3 additions, alternating with the white-chocolate milk mixture and the buttermilk.
- Start and end with flour.
- Mix until just combined — do NOT overmix.
3. Bake
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Grease and line two 20-cm (8-inch) cake pans.
- Divide batter evenly.
- Bake 22–27 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely.
🤍 4. Make the White Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting
- Beat butter until creamy.
- Add cream cheese and beat until smooth.
- Add melted, cooled white chocolate.
- Add powdered sugar gradually until fluffy.
🎂 5. Assemble the Cake
- Place first cake layer → spread frosting.
- Add second layer → frost the top and sides.
- Decorate with:
- white chocolate curls
- raspberries
- coconut flakes
- edible gold for a luxury finish ✨
